The Jesus Film

In November, we were able to go to one of our villages to present the Jesus film. For those of you who do not know, the Jesus film is a movie that shows the life of Jesus from his birth to death to resurrection. It follows the book of Luke. This movie has been powerful in many nations. We were so happy to share this movie with our people. Due to the nature of this event and the outcome, we will not be including a lot of pictures or personal testimony.

This was the first time that many of the people in the village even saw a movie.. so what a great movie to start out with.  Our team left in the afternoon to reach the village before dark. Once the sun has set, it is not safe to venture past the village. The team arrived, ate dinner with the villagers, and set up the equipment. Once everything was set up, it began to rain. Since the movie was out doors, the team was going to have to cancel the whole show. Our blessed children would not have this, they jumped up and began to pray, "Jesus stop the rain." The team and the adults joined the children in the prayer, and the rain stopped. So the show began.. of course we had snacks.. what movie is complete with out snacks.

Everyone in the village came out to watch this video.

This movie is powerful and moving. It gives a real picture of who Jesus is and what he has done.

Many people were overwhelmed with emotion as they watched Jesus die and rise again. And when they found out that He did all this to save their souls, it was amazing to watch the transformation.

We had some amazing testimonies and We have some people who dedicated their lives to the Lord. The team prayed for hours for people. Once the prayer and ministry was finished, the rain began again. It was like God held back the rain until HIS work was completed.

We have many more testimonies and pictures. If you would like to see them, please contact us and we would be happy to share.

village 2 in October

We had a great visit this month in our second village.

We do not have as many people attend as our other village, but still we love to minister to who we can. Many of the adults and even some of the children are out working in the field, so they often can not attend the meetings.

All of our kids, no matter the village, love to sing and perform.. it is a beautiful thing to see.

After worship, we give them snacks. These are big treat for these children who receive so little.

We take attendance regularly. This helps us get to know the kids name and helps us keep track of who is coming.

This month, we taught about the creation story.  The children love hearing these stories.

We end the meeting with a time of prayer

There is nothing more sweet then the prayers of a child

Tribal drums that are used for ceremonies and Hindu festival times.

This is a grain that is grown in the tribal regions. It offers a little nutritional value, but it is their chief source of food.  It is dried in the sun, and then made into a flour and then make a cooked dough with it.

The children all escort the team out to the road. What a joy to be here.

We say goodbye until the next visit.

October's testimony

We want to start sharing a testimony of the month. We will be leaving out the names and particulars to protect the people. We want to start bringing you testimonies straight from the mouths of the people we work with. It says in Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.”  We are working in a spiritually dark area; these testimonies bring light into this dark area.

This month we are bringing you a testimony from one of our tribal leaders.  We always praise God for this man; if was not for this man, we could not have done anything that we are doing now. This month we asked him to share his testimony with us.   He was so happy to share with us.

“God has blessed the whole village in two areas:  Physical and spiritual.  Before Jesus came to this village, we always had people who were sick and died without any reasons.  We did not have unity among us, and our kids were not taken care of.  We were not aware of many things, but now I see the big different that is happening in our village.  Jesus protects us from wild animal, and we reap more than what we need for our food.  Our kids are going to school, and I am so glad that my son is one of them.  I always worried about my son.  I was afraid that he was going to end up like me without education, but thank God for the opportunity you made for him.  God gave us road after waiting for generation after generation.  I could keep going on  and tell you all that He has done for us.  One of the greatest things is by knowing JESUS, now we all know that we have a great God, the one who cares for us, and died for us.  We believe in Jesus, and HE IS OUR GOD!!!!!!  Now I look back and say I have made a great decision to bring Ravi and the team to our village when they asked me for permission to visit our village four years ago.  The people who told me not take them into my village are now saying I did what was right.”

Praise the Lord!!! Does this not bring you chills? This is coming from a man that not too long ago was calling on the name of any god who would listen and was afraid these gods would kill him. He has found Jesus!!!!  Friends this is what makes us desire to find more villages and souls, and turn their lives to the Light.  Without your prayers and support, we could not have done this!! Thank you all.

Village 1 in October

There has been an unusual amount of rain lately in the tribal areas. The road to the village is now a dirt road, but it is still passable. So the team headed up despite all the difficulties.

We were so happy to see a large crowd to greet us! We have never had this many people at one time.

We were even overflowing the area we normally meet in

What was also special is many of the men that attended. Normally they are in the forest working, but they took the day off to attend the meeting.

We started our normal activities with Kid's songs and worship. A favorite song is about a train that Jesus drives to heaven. While singing the songs the kids run around in circles as fast as they can!

Our team members are faithful in giving up their days work to attend the ministry.  We could not do this ministry with out these men.

The government gave the village money to build a meeting hall that will be used for weddings, gatherings, and church meetings.

After the songs and worship, we began the message.  The young and old all enjoy the message. What a time to share the Love of God with these people

After the message, we hand out the snacks and supplies. No matter the age, everyone loves receiving these items. For many it is the only time of the month that they get anything special. They are amazed. They live in a world that treats them less then human, and we get the great privilege to show them the value they have in Jesus.

Bushan delights our heart each time we see him. Each time we see him, we see how God has touched and healed him. We are waiting for the day when he can walk!!

We also love our babies... we are starting to burst at the seams with all these new little ones. We look at them and see the potential that the generation before them never had. Their parents did not have the opportunity to go to school or receive health care. We feel honored that God has allowed us to help them.

We are even delighted with a baby who is just a few days old... look at that face... can you see the hope in this little one??? Such innocence and life. We are so blessed to be able to impact this little ones life.

We could not pass up this opportunity to take a picture of our whole group.. it was hard to get them to fit into the whole picture.. we are so proud!!!!

We finished the meeting with a time of prayer..

It blesses our heart to see such a devotion that these people have. We thank God every day for HIS ministry that HE has given us.

The people in the village have began to ask us to pray for them in the end. The needs vary from physical to financial needs.

Like this man, who is suffering from untreated diabetes.   He has lost many of his toes and teeth to this disease. If God does not heal him, he will not be with us much longer. Please pray for this man and many in our villages.

Sad day in Guilyada

We lost a child this month. This breaks our hearts. Sarausa was about 13 years old and she passed away unexpectedly.  Her family is claiming that a Hindu god killed her. We do not know the facts, but still we are sad by this news. She only attended our meetings a few times. Her parents would not normally allow her to attend. Please pray for the girl's family and that we can continue to minister to the family. Pray for the whole village and pray for Pastor David and his team...  We have complete confidence that "He who is IN us is GREATER then he who is in the world!!!" 1 John 4:4

The Third Annual Real Hope Christmas is coming up soon!!!!

Christmas is coming
We consider everyone that prays, supports, and reads our report part of our team. So as part of our team, we want to include you in on all the plans we have for our 3rd Annual Tribal Christmas!!!  This year we HOPE to reach 3 main villages, but know that many other kids from the surrounding villages will be attending.  Here is the plan.
When, Where, What, and Why
When- We are planning our Christmas events to take place the weekend after Christmas on the 26th and 28th.
Where- We are planning to do three Christmas celebrations this year. The first two will take place on the 26th in our main village Velangombia. The team plans to spend the majority of the day up in this village doing all the programs we have planned.  Later that afternoon, the team will pass through the New Village (the literal translation of the name of this village is New Village).  In the New Village, we will conduct a small celebration. They have not been to receptive towards our work. The people in this village came down from another village in the jungle area. They were given land and small houses, but became indentured servants to the high cast land owners. These land owners are strong Hindu’s. They have forbid the people from attending our events.  If we push the land owners too much, they will try to stop our ministry. We are planning to do a small presentation. We will hand out some sweets and some food to the kids in this area.
We are also planning to reach our new area for the FIRST time. On Monday the 28th, our team will go to Guilyada. We are planning to spend the entire day in that village. We are sure that many people from the surrounding 6 villages will come.
What- The big question is, what are we planning to do? Our team will come into the villages, and will conduct many games.  The kids and adults both love all these games. Last year we did games like musical chairs, running races, memory verses, and singing competitions. These games were hits with the old and young alike.
After the games, we start with a time of worship. This is also a favorite time for our people. We then have a great Christmas message. This is a wonderful time for the people to hear the REASON FOR THE SEASON.  We follow the message with a great feast. This is the ONLY time of the year that people eat this good.  Their normal diet consists of grain and vegetation from the jungle. The people in Velangombia are already asking us when Christmas is coming because they have not had the specific traditional meal since last year. They are talking about how excited they are to celebrate Christmas.
After dinner, we hand out clothing to the children. In the past years, we have given clothing to the adults too.  However this year, we are planning to give the adults a small food supply.  We desire to give them a small bag of rice, lentils, and basic Indian cooking items. This would help increase the health of our villagers. Since they normally do not eat well, this would bring basic nutrition into their diet. We are excited to do this for each family of the village.
Why- We have had a calling to do this since we began the ministry. We were blessed to conduct our first Tribal Christmas 3 years ago. We saw firsthand how this small act of kindness affected the people in the village.  Our first Tribal Christmas opened the door into the lives of our villagers, and we are now reaping the effects of it. Our goal is to do this each year in order to show them the love of Christ. The people in the tribal village are now inviting family from other tribal areas to this event.  This is an OPEN DOOR that we can use to bring the LOVE OF JESUS to these people.  We desire to show the people too that Jesus cares for their needs.
How can you help?
We are asking for volunteers to sponsor a family for Real Hope’s 3rd Annual Tribal Christmas. For $25 dollars, you could provide for a family to attend this function. This would provide clothing for the children, food for the family, the Christmas meal, and children’s program with prizes.  We are planning to accommodate 120 families between the 3 villages, so we need a total of $3000 in order to do what we have planned. But we have confidence that God will provide. Each year that we have done this, God has provided EVERYTHING that we need. Currently we have 4 families sponsored, so we only need 115 more families. Please prayerfully consider sponsoring a family this Christmas. If you are able to help us, drop us an email or make your checks out to New Life Christian Center and in the memo write Kumar India Christmas and send to PO BOX 485 Roseburg OR 97470.
Thank-you for your Love and Support
